Officials Gather to Celebrate the New Pace I-90/Barrington Road Park-N-Ride Station, the State's First In-Line Transit Station

Pace, the Illinois Tollway, Hoffman Estates and other local, state and federal officials will offer comments, photo opportunities and tours.

WHAT: Pace, the Illinois Tollway, Hoffman Estates and other officials will gather to celebrate the opening of Illinois’s first in-line transit station, the new Pace I-90/Barrington Road Park-n-Ride Station. Officials will speak about the project and the partnerships that made this station possible. Comments will be followed by a ribbon cutting and a bus tour demonstrating bus routing along the Tollway and through the station.

WHEN:  Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, at 10 a.m.

WHERE: The pedestrian bridge at the Pace I-90/Barrington Road Park-n-Ride Station. Please park in the park-n-ride lot off of Central Road (Gino’s East is on the corner of Barrington Road and Central Road), just north of I-90 and east of Barrington Road. Please look for Pace staff and signage.

WHY: For the first time in Tollway history, transit options are accommodated within the roadway. The Pace I-90/Barrington Road Station is Illinois’ first in-line station, allowing for convenient on-highway boarding and faster trip times.
